Dick Bax's 15mm Grey Mountain Dwarves
|
The Grey Mountain collective is a dwarven army of roughly 1200 points. There are another 1000 points in the 'to be painted' box. The Grey Mountain collective is a socialist libertarian collective that makes it home in and on the Grey Mountains in the Murphy's Heroes Fantasy campaign world. The world is nameless so far. About 400 years ago, the revolution overthrew the tyrannical dwarf-king Oswaldt. Since that time the Grey Mountains have been ruled by the Grey Council. The Grey council uses the fanatical Red guards to enforce their important decisions. The less important decisions are usually just ignored. There are 3 distinct social groupings in the Grey mountains. The Deep Dwarfs: mostly miners and artisans that live and work deep inside the mountains. The Upper Crust: mostly artisans and some pig farmers that live just underneath the mountain surface. The Outsiders are traders, farmers and cattle ranchers that live in the valleys between the mountains. Relations between these groups are somewhat strained when there are strangers around. The army has had big problems facing armies with flyers. However currently this problem is minimised by the combination of light anti-flyer guns and bat swarms. Furthermore there are a few dwarven heroes who are crazy enough to use flying machines. The new problem is heavy cavalry. There is no sure way to stop these yet although artillery and fieldworks help. However the Grey Council hopes a combination of pikemen and behemoths will work. The behemoths are still being tamed and should be ready for battle in a few months! Click on the thumbnail to see the full size image: |
