My
Empire army started as a birthday gift of a large box of Demonworld 15mm figures
from their Empire range by club members, as they were able to by the packs
extremely cheap in Germany. For the fantasy Vis Magica Campaign at our club, I
devised the following fluff for the Empire:
The
Empire is run by Civil Servants. Everything is planned meticulously. The basic
unit for the field army is a brigade of four bases open order heavy infantry.
Imperial brigades are close order and have three bases in a brigade. Provincial
brigades are three or four medium or light bases in a brigade. A Division
consists of four brigades and can have a maximum of one support brigade. The
Army consists of five divisions, and can have at the most two support divisions.

The
uniforms are red/white, green/white, yellow/white, green/white for each brigade.
The troop type is coded in the layout of the shields. The Brigade number is
colour coded in the shield colours of each base. Of course all brigades have
their allotments of heroes and magicians.
Currently
the army consists of 2,200 points painted and growing towards 3,500 points
total. That is currently 64 bases finished and 41 to paint yet, not counting
leaders etc. Rank and file figures are Demonworld, lots of other brands in the
support bases.
