10mm Hordes & Heroes Range

The Kallistra Hordes and Heroes range is a beautifully sculpted collection of 10mm fantasy figures sold in packs containing, for man-sized characters, approximately 32 figures each.

My recommendation for players using Kallistra's 10mm figures is that they play using the VM game distances for 15mm figures, but with their figures mounted in one of the two ways explained below.  If both sides use the same basing convention, the rules are easily robust enough to cope, and VM also works perfectly well even if one side uses one basing convention and the other side uses the other. 

1)  Players can use one Kallistra pack's worth of figures mounted as per their H&H rules as one VM base:  giving a VM base effectively 80mm wide by 50mm deep.  This negates the need for players to re-base existing armies and means that they can switch between systems dependent on available opponents.

2)  Players can use standard VM 15mm base sizes, but increase the number of figures per base appropriately - CO:  16 infantry or 8 cavalry; OO 12 infantry or 7 cavalry; SO 9 infantry or 6 cavalry.

·        Officers as Knights. Magicians are priests or court magicians. Standards should be mounted on the base of the most senior Officer present or carried by the Royal Household Knights.   Heroes are mighty warriors or individual allied dragons.

·        Warriors and Spearmen may have front rank upweighted to HI at a cost of +2 points per base. 

·        Archers carry stakes that they can emplace across their frontage as Light Works.  Archers that have Hold orders can place or pull up these stakes during a movement phase.

·        Dragons can be found at the end of the main Kallistra lists under Accessories.
