Whether your lizards are the kind
that dwell in the swamp, or the kind that live in the desert, a Lizardman
army is always fun to field.
My army has plenty of solid foot
backed up with a strike force of dinosaur-mounted lancers: with the
dino's as Fighting Mounts just to make them that little bit tougher.
I also like to include a few lizardman giants, if only because there are
so many good models to choose from. Add in the evil Priests, and
you've got a very powerful force ready to take on all-comers. |

Three of the Officers from the
army. The chap on the left is a typical brigade Leader. The
monstrosity in the middle is the commander-in-chief. The mounted
lizard on the right is the Leader of the cavalry brigade. |

Three different types of foot
base. On the left is a base of standard foot: open order
medium lizards with swords and shields. In the centre is a base of
armoured lizards, and on the right is a base of archers. I
like the idea that my lizardman army is a sort of conglomeration of
various tribes, and that leadership is a very visible thing. Thus
the archers are obviously from a different tribe to the foot, and, if you
look carefully, the foot leaders are a good deal taller than their
colleagues. Brigade Leaders are all red-skinned, and even the
back-spikes of the leaders of the archer bases are in red rather than the
normal green. |

| Giants |

 |
| Three
types of heavy support base. On the left are the giant turtle
Behemoths. In the centre are some Light Giants and, on the right,
are the Medium Giants. I've yet to find a good Heavy Giants
figure...but there's one out there somewhere! |

The Cavalry |
 |
 |
 |
|
Three bases of cavalry
types. On the left are Swarm: loads of little lizards like the
ones off Jurassic Park II! In the centre are the dino-mounted
lancers: these ride Fighting Mounts and are probably the most lethal
unit in the army. On the right is my lizardman hero: an albino
lizard mounted on an albino dinosaur.
One can again assume that the
lizards that ride things (cavalry and giant turtles) are from a different
tribe to the foot. |

The Lizardmen Priests and the
Flyers. I always include both in any army I field.
Note that the painting scheme is
carried through here: the priests, using magic, have purple
skins; and the riders of the pterosaurs are, like the cavalry,
blue-skinned. |
