Army Stats

Just finished a great game of VM using a friend's 10mm armies. My Gendarmes (Empire) held the centre with crossbowmen, halberdiers and bombards whilst the Knights went round the flank: his Orcs headed straight for me, got pinned in the centre and then flank attacked by the Knights. Officer casualties amongst the Gendarmes were high, but the Orcs were routed!

I'm a committed 15mm player (as I can use my 15mm Ancient armies to bulk out Legendary Greek, Celtic, Assyrian and Anubic Egyptian armies) but must confess I did enjoy playing in 10mm. We used four 10mm bases to equal one VM base, and played a 460 point battle (four brigades a side) in about 2½ hours.

Optional Rules I have added a series of new magical effects using combinations of two of the five schools of magic. I have so far identified five new magical effects: from combing the schools of Air and Water to affect spotting to combining the schools of Void and Earth to create or remove Disorder.

If anyone has any ideas for other combinations, then send them in!

Armies Gallery I am about to revise the Armies Gallery to the site, following what I have done on the Vis Bellica website. All I need to do is find the time to do it! Keep popping back to see if I've managed it yet!

Army Lists

John O Connor has been busy producing army lists for the world of Robert E Howard's Conan novels.  I've started uploading them, so here are the first eleven or so:  Aquilonia; Argos; Asgard; Brythunia; Cimmeria; Corinthia; Hyperborea; Khauran; Khoraja; Koth and Nemedia.  The rest will follow shortly, so keep popping back.

John has also hinted that he's working on some kind of PBM campaign for VM set in Hyboria:  so keep your eyes peeled for news of that too.
